Description
SLD steel is a high-performance, Japanese “semi-stainless” tool steel developed by Hitachi Metals, often used in high-end kitchen knives and cutting tools for its superior edge retention and durability. With a hardness of 60–62 HRC, it acts as an upgraded D2 steel, offering excellent wear resistance while being easier to sharpen than many fully stainless steels.
